Some of you may have seen this lovely picture floating around in the CrossFit world. You'll probably spot the typo and assume it's a fake like others have. It may be. Who cares! I like it. It speakes to me. And, as a Woman, it should speak to you too. (We already know it speaks to you, Men.) I've ran into it countless times. The "I don't want to look like a man" excuse from women when it comes to weight lifting. I guarantee some of you at our box still secretively fear the testosterone overload. I used to be the same way. Please raise your hand if you think the chick in the picture looks like a man? Well? Hell no! She's the furthest thing from a man. But she clearly does more than the eliptical all day. What do you know, a woman can be powerful AND beautiful at the same time! Time to embrace your strength ladies! Stop shying away from the bigger kettlebells or the heavier balls. Be strong and be proud. BE CROSSFIT!
CrossFit One World had the following to say on the matter....
1.You aren't necessarily losing any weight, but....
2.Your waist is smaller.
3.Your ass and thighs are getting bigger, but....
4.You're body composition overall is leaner.
5.You are conditioned to think that you need to lose weight to look better, but...
6.Everyone is noticing how good you look!
7.You aren't the strongest person in your gym, but....
8.You are stronger than most the guys at your workplace, and that, ladies, is empowering.
So, are you CrossFit or aren't you?
