Birthdate? July 3rd, 1961 When did you start CrossFit? I started CF in 2010. Were you exercising before CF? If so, tell us about your typical workout. I have always done some form of exercise. I played mens league recreation basketball and pick up games twice a week through my mid 40′s. I have always been a runner, too. I then progressed the the normal globo gym (GiGis , Dymamic) after ending basketball. I started CF in Sulphur because the gym was boring and CF was the new thing. They shut down and that’s when I came to CFLC. What was your very first CF workout? I don’t remember my very first CF workout but I do remember an early workout. It was 100 burpee pullups. That was one of two times ( again at Open 14.5) that I wanted to quit and asked myself “what the hell are you doing this for?”. Describe that experience in three words. December 2015 Athlete Of The Month- Jonathan Johnson

When did you start CrossFit? I started in May of 2012. I met Ashley and saw all these strange people running around downtown carrying medicine balls. My curiosity got the best of me and I wanted to check it out. Then I was at my old gym one day and I ran into an old friend and he was in great shape. He told me he was one of those crazy med ball runners, so I joined. I soon became one of the weird people running around downtown with a medicine ball. Were you exercising before CF? If so, tell us about your typical workout. I was exercising but I had a much different exercise routine. I worked out about 3 or 4 times a week doing circuit workouts. I’d do a leg day, a chest and tri day, and a back and bi day. I would sprinkle in some ab workouts. I did a couple of the local boot camps and I was very active in sports, which I considered my cardio. I never felt like I was getting enough out of my workouts. November 2015 Athlete Of The Month: Caitlin Guillory

When did you start CrossFit? I started in September 2013. I don’t think I’ve ever been so intimidated and nervous as the day I walked into the box, but I am so glad I did. I didn’t know a single soul. I had a friend that loved crossfit, but her box was in a location that didn’t work for me. I went back and forth between choosing the downtown LC box (where I work) and the Sulphur box (where I live). I definitely made the right choice! Were you exercising before CF? If so, tell us about your typical workout. Nope – I was a total couch potato! I was active in high school and college. It all went downhill when I started working full time and was spending 40-60 hours a week at a desk. I gained about 30 pounds and became pretty inactive while studying for the CPA exam, which ate up another 30 hours a week. What was your very first CF workout? 150 wall balls for time.
